We Need More Lateefah Simons in Power —

For the Sake of Our Children, Our Communities, and Our Futures

There’s something sacred about a leader who doesn’t just talk about justice but lives it.

Lateefah Simon is one of those leaders.

She speaks with the raw truth of someone who’s lived the consequences of broken systems — and yet she builds anyway.

Builds community. Builds justice. Builds futures.

In a political landscape bloated with polished lies and performative equity, Lateefah Simon shows us what it means to be rooted in truth.

Her words cut through the noise not just because they’re eloquent, but because they are soaked in lived experience. And most importantly — they’re for the people. Specifically, for our children, and the world we’re trying to shape for them.

Because let’s be clear: we don’t need more representatives who uphold the very systems that are choking our communities.

We need truth-tellers. We need systems shapers. We need decolonial architects.

And Lateefah Simon is all of that and more.

Her presence in politics doesn’t represent diversity. It represents resistance. Her leadership isn’t about inclusion in white supremacist structures — it’s about transforming those structures into systems that center collective liberation.

As I launch this video series, I start with Lateefah not because she’s palatable, but because she’s radical in the most beautiful way.

Her vision isn’t built on assimilation. It’s built on love — fierce, revolutionary love — for our people, especially our children.

And if we’re not fighting for them, then what are we even doing?

Stay tuned. More truth-bearers coming soon.

With power and purpose,
Michele
