Womxn Are Revolutionary Leaders
We come together to create a world where 75% deliberately silenced voices are at ALL decision-making tables, everywhere
This post is an informing post to announce a few changes and create dialogue to continue exploring our edges.
If you’ve participated in or been invited to one of our weekly conversations originally entitled Women Leading the Collaboration Revolution, we just celebrated our first birthday and are now diving right into our next growth phase.
It reminds me of how our infants grew into toddlers, then into young children, then into teens, etc… you can see a Mother can have her children leave the nest (my son is now in his 40’s whew saying that makes me feel old) and yet she will always think of analogies using the growth phases - chuckle.
That is what I am staring into the face of right now.
The experiment that was my baby last Summer 2023 is growing and giving us additional data for how it is ready to move into the next phase.
Here’s the story from the beginning.
Seeing how women were missing the boat for collaborating with each other and even how to support one other in simple trusting ways had me thinking, what if I created a weekly conversation where we could come together to both - get to know each other and discuss what we are learning about ourselves for how to successfully collaborate.
A rich mixture of experience, expertise and a diverse set of voices was my goal.
And since people learn by doing, how about I also model a low-risk form of collaboration for them to witness each week!
After all, putting ideas into action is where our best growth occurs.
So we were off on a journey together. I invited women to join me each Wednesday for a simple 30-minute conversation using Linkedin Audio events.
We tested the time of day - mornings and afternoons, you asked us to alternate so you could have both. I get it, we have a global audience and 4 time zones are tricky to balance.
So what is changing?
After a year I am examining all I’ve learned over this time and from all our conversations weekly. The more we’ve all discussed our lived experiences and the more we ask each other next-level questions, the stronger I sense it is time for a name change.
WHY?
Because the mission involves a more diverse set of people
Because the mission is bigger than the topic of collaboration
Because the mission is more encompassing it is a bigger vision
If we are going to create an expanded community so that 75% deliberately silenced voices are at ALL decision-making tables, everywhere, that means we want those people in conversation with us weekly.
